ICE SVU has just made the deportation of Ilhan Omar possible—well, not really, it was always available to ICE SVU to deport Ilhan Omar, but recent events showed it was still possible.

The latest news is that ICE SVU just publicized a case that highlighted their mission to identify and deport aliens who unlawfully obtain U.S. citizenship, and by extension, Lawful Permanent Residence (LPR), by lying on their application for an immigrant visa or on an application for U.S. citizenship regarding human rights violations the aliens were involved with before immigrating to the United States.

In this case a naturalized citizen from Ethiopia was charged and convicted with concealing his participation in the Red Terror there, a systematic campaign of torture and murder committed by the then communist regime. After serving any sentence, Mezemr Abebe Belayneh, will be deported.

On July 26, a federal jury in the Northern District of Georgia convicted Mezemr Abebe Belayneh, 67, of Snellville, Georgia, of fraudulently obtaining U.S. citizenship by lying about his role in persecuting teenagers in Ethiopia for their political opinions.

According to court documents and evidence presented at trial, Belayneh unlawfully obtained U.S. citizenship in 2008 by lying about and concealing the fact that he persecuted and committed acts of violence against political opponents during a period known as the “Red Terror” in Ethiopia. The Red Terror was a campaign of brutal violence in the late 1970s when Ethiopia’s ruling military council and its supporters detained, interrogated, tortured and executed thousands of perceived political opponents.

Similar to Belayneh, the father of infamous anti-white Muslim Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, Nur Omar Mohamed, was a human rights violator in the communist regime ruling Somalia at the same time. Mohamed eventually obtained, illegally, refugee status in the United States. Since he was a human rights violator, he was statutorily ineligible for refugee status and any subsequent adjustment to Lawful Permanent Resident, then naturalization. Since Mohamed was ineligible for asylum, the dependents he brought with him on his refugee application are also statutorily ineligible for that and any subsequent immigration benefit or naturalization.
