Not long ago, Mark Zuckerberg announced a lavish lobby, FWD.us, to solve the pressing Cheap Labor shortage that is keeping Silicon Valley billionaires from being even richer. Zuckerberg put his old Harvard roommate Joe Green in charge. But, unexpectedly, House Republicans declined to commit suicide, so now Zuck has fired Green.

And now here’s a long article in re/code minutely recounting Green’s personal shortcomings:

Pressing Fwd.us: How Silicon Valley’s $50 Million Bet on Immigration Stalled

by Amy Schatz October 15, 2014, 8:45 AM PDT

Joe Green’s peccadilloes are boring and not terribly relevant to why a bad law supported by almost the entire Establishment didn’t pass (main reason: the law’s badness).

But, I point out this personally humiliating article about Green should serve as a warning to others thinking it would be a great career move jumping on the immigration “reform” gravy train.

I know that everybody you know thinks amnesty and more guest workers and probably open borders are a great idea. So how could you not triumph along with such an inevitable cause.

But it failed in in 2001, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2013, and 2014, so it would probably fail on your watch, too. But when it does fail, you will personally be blamed.

Just remember that when you get that exciting call from Zuckerberg.
