D.A. King Was Right—20 Million Illegals! [Peter Brimelow]- 01/02/05

VDARE.COM's D.A. King recently argued that there could be as many as 20 million illegal aliens in the U.S., rather than the 8-12 million estimated by the federal government.

Now Bear Stearns financial analyst Robert Justich estimates in a forthcoming paper, "The Underground Labor Force Is Rising to The Surface," that, based on remittance and construction data, the illegal population could be…18-20 million! ("Going Undergound: The Shadow Economy is about to top $1 trillion – at a great cost to many," by Jim McTague, Barron's, December 31, 2004.)

Justich also supports Ed Rubenstein's contention that illegal immigrants working off the books are responsible for a massive undercount in recent job growth.

The jobs just aren't going to Americans.

The Wal-Mart Illegals And The Enterprising Lawyers Who Invented Them. [Bryanna Bevens] - 01/02/05

Remember the whole debacle of the illegal aliens employed by Wal-Mart who were discovered in a raid by DHS agents?

Facing deportation, they filed a class-action lawsuit against Wal-Mart for what their attorneys called "slave wages" (which turned out to be between $8 and $12 dollars an hour) and unfair working conditions.

If you don't know this game, the lawyers will get maybe a third of any settlement—plus costs.
