United Nations Pushes the Refugee Scam

At the least, the Obama Administration provoked the immigration crisis in what used to be the American Southwest through its Administrative Amnesty and advocacy of the so-called DREAM Act.  Illegals are coming because they know they will not be deported — in fact they will be rewarded for their lawbreaking.

However, there is also evidence to suggest that the Obama Administration deliberately engineered the swarm, as shown by a federal advertisement for "escort services" for "unaccompanied alien children" posted in January of this year.  [Gov't Confirms Authenticity of Contract Request for 'Escort Services for Unaccompanied Alien Children' at the Border, by Sara Carter, The Blaze, June 20, 2014]

Nonetheless, the United Nations, which can always be counted on to try to make life worse for the historic American nation, is now flapping its hands and insisting that this is a "refugee crisis."  An excerpt from the ever predictable left wing content aggregator the Huffington Post:

United Nations officials are pushing for many of the Central Americans fleeing to the U.S. to be treated as refugees displaced by armed conflict, a designation meant to increase pressure on the United States and Mexico to accept tens of thousands of people currently ineligible for asylum.

Officials with the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees say they hope to see a regional agreement on that status Thursday when migration and interior department representatives from the U.S., Mexico, and Central America meet in Nicaragua. The group will discuss updating a 30-year-old declaration regarding the obligations nations have to aid refugees.

While such a resolution would lack any legal weight in the United States, the agency said it believes "the U.S. and Mexico should recognize that this is a refugee situation, which implies that they shouldn't be automatically sent to their home countries but rather receive international protection."

Most of the people widely considered to be refugees by the international community are fleeing more traditional political or ethnic conflicts like those in Syria or the Sudan. Central Americans would be among the first modern migrants considered refugees because they are fleeing violence and extortion at the hands of criminal gangs.

"They are leaving for some reason. Let's not send them back in a mechanical way, but rather evaluate the reasons they left their country," Fernando Protti, regional representative for the U.N. refugee agency, told The Associated Press.

The United States has seen a dramatic increase in the number of Central American migrants crossing into its territory, particularly children traveling without any adult guardian. More than 52,000 unaccompanied children have been apprehended since October. Three-fourths of them are from Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador and most say they are fleeing pervasive gang violence and crushing poverty.

Needless to say, Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez is delighted to export the future lumpenproletariat of his failed state to gullible gringos.  He insisted that "migrants from his country were 'displaced by war' and called on the United States to acknowledge that."

President Hernandez is as great an exemplar of Honduran patriotism as the parents deporting their children are of "Hispanic family values."

It's worth noting that there isn't actually a "war" in Central America anymore than there is a "war" in relatively wealthy Mexico.  It's simply the reality of living in a Third World country, or any country that has a majority Third World population.  Apparently, the conditions that Third Worlders create wherever they go is held now constitutes an obligation under international law for First Worlders to accept an apparently unlimited number.

The obvious (and perhaps intended) result of this circular logic is that all First World countries will simply be turned into Third World countries, and together we can enjoy the vibrant crime, inequality, and squalor that comes with being in a multicultural mosaic. Already, there are confirmed reports from the Border Patrol that some of the "refugees" are gang members from MS-13 — they very gang that refugees are supposed to be "fleeing."  [Violent MS-13 Gang Members Leave Graffiti on Bathroom Walls of Nogales Border Patrol Processing Center, by Katie Pavlich, Townhall, July 8, 2014]

I pause to note here that the United Nations habitually condemns the "racism" of American society, so the refugees who fled here will presumably have to be compensated for the horror of being surrounded by racist whites.   Even when European-Americans dismantle their entire society to accommodate the Third World, their suffering is still Our Fault.

Margaret Thatcher once said that the problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money.  The problem with open borders is that eventually the Third World runs out of First World countries to flee to.
