To the suggestion in my February Diary that the Alt Right stage an awards ceremony of its own, several readers have wondered what short name we should give it for headline purposes.  The Academy Awards is the "Oscars," for reasons uncertain.  What should the Alt Right equivalent be?

Well, on the postage-stamp principle — i.e. no living persons — I don't see how we can do other than honor the late Sam Francis, a key foundational thinker and writer of the Alt Right (and frequent VDARE.com contributor).

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you … the Sams!
