Back in 2010 when President Obama was considering his second Supreme Court nomination I asked What chance a WASP man for Supreme Court?

In the event Obama nominated the lamentably under-qualified Commissar Kagan and now at the end of his Presidency we learn the answer: Zero. Obama nominates Jewish judge, Merrick Garland, to Supreme Court JTA.org March 16, 2016

If confirmed, Garland would be the fourth Jewish justice on the nation’s highest court, which is comprised entirely of Jews and Catholics. The three current Jewish members of the Supreme Court are Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Elana Kagan and Stephen Breyer.
The Obamacrats appear to agree with the arrogant stance I noticed that year in Chicago Prof: U.S. Protestants don't merit US Supreme Court place

The degree of ethnic log-rolling which preceded the Kagan nomination was so vividly documented by Kevin MacDonald it earned him a free trip to New York: Kevin MacDonald's Daily Show Adventure. (Unsurprisingly senior management of the show vetoed any discussion of this aspect of Justice selection).

But since these officials have long since ceased to be Judges of the old Anglo-Saxon type and now behave like Priest-Kings in a theocracy who they are is desperately important. I repeat Can Free Speech (And America) Survive A Minority-Dominated Supreme Court? (My answer is no.)

It was smart of Obama to pick Judge Garland. His co-ethnics will now be rushing to force/induce the Senate to confirm him. They may well succeed.

A mildly amusing corollary is that in all his term Obama must have found it impossible to come up with a plausibly qualified Black.
