More Echo-Chamber Attacks On Brimelow At CPAC
This is from IBTimes.com, which is doing a combination point-and-splutter attack on CPAC panels with a “guilt-by-association” attack based on the fact that Peter Brimelow spoke there in 2012.
Fortunately, CPAC has cut down on some of the egregiously inflammatory panels, like 2012’s infamous “The Failure of Multiculturalism: How the Pursuit of Diversity is Weakening the American Identity,” hosted by Peter Brimelow, leader of VDARE, which the Southern Poverty Law Center calls “a race-baiting hate group.” Still, that doesn’t mean that there aren’t a handful of truly unusual panels at CPAC this year.[Your Guide To The 6 Most Bizarre Panels At CPAC 2014, By Eric Brown, March 06 2014]
Brimelow`s speech was totally not about race, but about the problems of bilingualism in Quebec—where both French and English speakers were almost entirely white. Peter modestly titled it “Canadian Bilingualism & Multiculturalism as it Relates to America “(Yawn!).
Eric Brown didn`t listen to this, or do any research. As Peter Brimelow pointed out in reponse to Dean Obeidallah`s very similar attack, if they did bother to do this, they would be
ululating about a much more prominent Thought Criminal: John Derbyshire, whose talk on the same panel, Will Our Multicultural Elites Ever Become Race Realists?, really was radical, although his then-editors at National Review, who don’t slum at CPAC, apparently didn’t notice—then.
So is Eric Brown`s attack a result of copying Dean Obeidallah at the Daily Beast, or the result of talking points at a new version of Journolist? Who cares? It`s entirely predictable, and of course the attacks on this year`s panels show once more that nothing is gained by Republican cowardice.
