Push-back is the policy by the legacy Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to allow the U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) and other enforcement components of DHS to use physical force to either prevent the entry of illegal aliens or force any invader back over the border demarcation line.

It appears that a National Guard unit at the border has decided to force illegals back over the border.

Ace reporter Bill Melugin says there are other videos of push-back along the Texas border, but Melugin does not have any on his X feed, nor are there any other examples on Anthony Aguero’s X feed.

We don’t know if this was a spur of the moment action by this squad or this particular Guardsman or a new official policy.

Unusually, the Guardsmen are wearing their Advanced Combat Helmets (ACH) rather than fatigue covers or patrol caps, so I am thinking this is not a Texas National Guard unit, which usually deploys on the border without the ACH, but perhaps Florida National Guard or another State’s unit.

The real question is what will follow this event. Will push-back increase organically, will the Guardsmen involved be disciplined for their action, or will push-back become official policy?

The origin of the video is from the El Paso Univision outlet, and they are trying to gin up a controversy over the actions of the Guardsmen.

Governor Abbott, a nation’s eyes turn to you.
