With John Kerry going to State, there is a Senate seat in the gift of Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick.

It is known that Barney Frank covets that seat (as he has coveted many others . . .)

Alas for Barney:  Patrick has given the seat to his Chief of Staff, Mo Cowan.
