There seems to be no end for the contempt the Biden handlers have for the intelligence of Middle America.

In traveling to Wayne County at the invitation of the UAW president, Shawn Fain, Biden is positioning himself squarely on the side of striking workers

Biden makes history by joining striking autoworkers on the picket line, by Peter Nicholas, NBC News, September 26, 2023

In an unexpectedly thoughtful account, NBC’s Nicholas goes on:

“For him to be going on a picket line is outrageous,” Steven Rattner, who headed former President Barack Obama’s auto industry task force, said in an interview. “There’s no precedent for it. The tradition of the president is to stay neutral in these things. I get the politics. The progressives all said, ‘We don’t want a mediator; we want an advocate.’ And he bowed to the progressives, and now he’s going out there to put his thumb on the scale. And it’s wrong.”

He adds:

In his 2010 book about the Obama-Biden administration’s effort to rescue the auto industry, Rattner wrote about a meeting in then-White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel’s office in which officials discussed whether to salvage General Motors and Chrysler … one official mentioned… mentioned the tens of thousands of autoworker jobs that would be lost if the companies collapsed. “F--- the UAW,” Emanuel said, according to Rattner’s account in his book, “Overhaul.”

Rahm Emmanuel’s attitude is clearly more representative of the Democratic elite. Otherwise we would not have been able to post Breitbart/Fitch Show Biden ’No Borders’ Policy Visibly Eroding US Real Wages:

Speaking of the chart above, Carney notes…

the average hourly earnings gain (blue line) is now running lower than it was for most of the last year of the Trump presidency. What’s more, these gains are worth far less to workers because inflation (red line) is so much higher.

Because of the idiosyncratic nature of the auto industry, the UAW may think itself exempt from the general economic pressure Biden’s Great Replacement policy is putting on American workers.

This is a huge mistake. With the Administration promiscuously issuing work permits in huge numbers the competitive advantage of non-union Southern plants is going to intensify.

My prototypical discussion of this process is NYC Mayor Adams Has Migrant Crisis “Solution”: Attack Living Standards Of N.Y. Working Class.

This Biden stunt is a huge fraud.

Even hardened political observers have to marvel at the cold-hearted savagery of the Democrat’s attack on Blue Collar America.
