War Against Christmas 2003 Competition [II]: They ARE Coming For Christmas AND Thanksgiving!

Just returned from Seattle—hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving.

On a similar note to the Christmas Competition, Seattle did not have a Thanksgiving Day parade, but on the following day had a "Holiday Parade" which, according to The Seattle Times, "kicks off the holiday season."[Downtown parade to kick off holiday season Seattle Times. James Fulford comments: Yes, according to the Seattle Times, local retailer Bon-Macy's did indeed sponsor a “Holiday Parade.”  Still, Santa was going to be there and the tree outside the Westlake Center was still a Christmas tree. But this “kicks-off-the-holiday [formerly known as Christmas] season” thing is all over the country—sometimes accompanied by a “Holiday Tree,” sometimes by a nondescript Festival of Lights.
