would be effective. But I
would add this: The fees on
spousal visas should be substantially raised. I
suggest that between $10,000-15,000 is reasonable. I
base that rate on the prices I have heard paid to gay
men in Significant and in some cases
prohibitive increases in the consumer price would
substantially reduce frivolous or
fraudulent marriages. Keep
in mind that I also recommend a $300,000 fee for
employment-related green cards. Basically the minute someone gets a
green card, there are
very real financial benefits. In my column
Immigration Policy Squanders The Value of Citizenship
I put citizenship’s value at $450,000 Higher fees would lead to an overall
reduction in the numbers of applicants. Consequently,
less fraud, spousal abuse, etc The main thing to remember, however,
is that when it comes to immigration restriction,
sponsoring relatives (a component of the K-1) is the
biggest source of higher immigration. We need to think
realistically how to deal with that. Immigration of
spouses and minor children will be the hardest to
reduce.

The

45-year-old American Scott Napper.
Just as Napper was about to marry 22-year-old

This is either a suspicious case that one day

Thinking back on all the mail I’ve received

Napper—seem sincere but sophomoric in their lofty
