11/23/06 - A California Reader Predicts Anarchy Will Ensue If Immigration Laws Are Enforced

A California Reader Documents Bipartisan Congressional Gerrymandering

From: [Name Withheld]

While reviewing the results of California congressional races a few days ago, I noticed something horrifying.

Of the 53 House of Representative seats, only three races were close.

The incumbent, whether a Democrat or a Republican, won his race consistently by a ratio of 2 to 1.  I repeat: 2 to 1.

California has been gerrymandered to protect incumbents.

Do you think that any California incumbent respects the voters when they have such an overwhelming built-in dominance?

[Name Withheld] is a native Californian living in what he describes as “a foreign country known to many as the Silicon Valley.

Joe Guzzardi comments: See the results for yourself at the California Secretary of State website.
