A Reader Ponders Trent Lott On Immigration Reform

I bought the Washington Post on Thursday and found a photo-op picture of a laughing Trent Lott with his hand on the shoulder of a small South Asian, surrounded by an article about the coming increase in Republican staffs and office space. The picture was captioned "Aide Rohin Kumar and incoming Senate majority leader Trent Lott (R-Miss). Republicans will be hiring; Democrats will be firing."

The picture is not online [except on VDARE.COM], but a search for Rohin Kumar and Lott turned up documents showing that as of last May, Kumar was the Legislative Director for Senator Phil Gramm, who cited him as an example of why he supported chain migration.
