The following statement, slightly paraphrased, is included in the current County of Los Angeles printed out jury information booklet when someone is sent a Subpoena for jury duty:
“Q: Do I need to speak English?"
“A: No, you do not need to speak English. You will be part of a group, and others can help you, and all
people of different backgrounds and languages have something to contribute."
Our
criminal justice system has been compromised.
