An Albanian-American Teenager Thinks We're Wrong
A Florida Animal Lover Reports
Brutal Behavior By A Hispanic Supermarket Chain To the
HSUS
From:

The Pasadena, CA.-based, Hispanic-oriented
Liborio Markets withdrew its plan to
slaughter up to 150 chickens a day at its new retail
location in Greeley, Colorado. [

Calls Off Request: Rancho Liborio Won’t Process Chickens
On-Site, Joanna Larez, Greeley Tribune,
August 1, 2006]
Even though I live in Florida, I like to think I played
some small part in this triumph.
When I
first heard of the
outrageous idea to electrocute
chickens on site and then put the birds on the
market shelves, as is Liborio’s practice in its
California stores, I emailed Kelley Dupps at the Humane
Society of the United States’ Washington, D.C.
headquarters [e-mail]
who agreed that such action would be “atrocious
behavior.”
Dupps
then forwarded my mail to the HSUS Colorado State
Director Ms. Colin Berry [
e-mail]
of the Humane Society of the United States.
Bad
enough that the Hispanic-themed market (its motto is “si
es de alla, lo tenemos aqui”; “if it is from there, we
have it here”) is another sign that
Colorado is overwhelmed with illegal aliens, but to
disregard zoning laws for the
brutal purpose of
chicken slaughter indicates of how little Hispanics
care about our laws or our culture.
