A Pennsylvania Reader Says That, If We Must Have “Comprehensive Immigration Reform”, Let’s Put First Things First

If President Barack Obama and Congress ever actually get around to debating “comprehensive immigration reform”, they need to first  

• Recognize and admit how miserably they failed less than a generation after the 1986 Immigration Reform and Control Act was sold to us as a permanent solution to the illegal alien crisis.
   
• Determine what stopped enforcement of that law, which supposedly prohibited hiring illegal aliens and how that violation was allowed to continue.
   
• Get serious about border security and interior enforcement.
   
• End birthright citizenship and terminate all the social services that anchor babies and their alien parents currently tap into.

These steps, mind you, are only the beginning.
