A Reader Reminds Us About Garrett Hardin

Re: A CA Reader Says America Should Pull Up The Ladder

From: J Paige Straley [email]

The California reader who writes in about using the lifeboat analogy to explain the wisdom of stopping immigration is using an argument ecologist Dr. Garrett Hardin developed in 1977.  The VDARE.COM website has a link to the Garrett Hardin  site, and GH’s major essays are collected there—good reading, too.  The “lifeboat” essay is here: Lifeboat Ethics: the Case Against Helping the Poor by Garrett Hardin, Psychology Today, September 1974.

Page Straley most recently wrote North Carolina Sheriff Uses 287(G) Powers, Acts Against Illegal Immigration!
