Gentlemen:
I truly appreciate the effort by the
coalition that comprises VDARE to educate folks
on the apparently sacred cow issue of
immigration. You are an erudite group of
dedicated believers, and for that I thank you.
I do, however, find pause with both Mr.
Ansell's and Mr. Wall's perspectives. After
reading Mr. Ansell's article and Mr. Wall's
parenthetical remarks, I found myself stymied. I
had a problem concurring with either gentleman.
I wholeheartedly disagreed with the general
premises espoused by Mr. Ansell's and support
the electoral demise of Mr. Abraham. However,
Mr. Wall's perspective seemed somewhat off
especially concerning native European birth
rates and what I perceive to be the mixing of
two distinct albeit distantly related issues of
"mass immigration" and
"overpopulation".
I believe Paul Craig Robert's article
"Losing Europe" http://www.townhall.com/columnists/paulcraigroberts/pcr000426.shtml
provides a more accurate picture/representation
of the immigration situation. I also find Mr.
Brimelow's musings on this issue quite balanced.
In the end, I think it depends on the specific
issue one is arguing.
As such, one could argue quite aptly the
immigration issue without appeal to government
sanctioned sterilization or population control
measures. The former concerns the proper right
of a sovereign people to govern their borders
and preserve their culture while the
ramifications of the latter seems to support
bureaucratic statism.
Take care and thanks again,
Michael
