Guzzardi wrote about Pedro Pablo, the Guatemalan alien returning home, whom CNN portrayed so sympathetically.

The last time I checked, we were told that all the illegal immigrants living in America wanted to be put on a path to citizenship.

But now that the U.S. economy is in trouble, the aliens hightail it back home—which we had also been told are oppressive places to live.

If they want to be citizens, why are aliens leaving? And if home is so bad, why are they going back?

The illegal immigrants have been taking our jobs and sending their salaries south of the border, both of which have contributed to our rotten economy.

Let's invest in double fence surrounded by a moat that covers the border's expanse and hire laid off Americans to build it.
