Winning Through Intimidation: Immigrant Threats Cow Europe—And America

A small skirmish was won recently in the long war between Western Civilization and alien totalitarian religion—but the associated agitation shows that even a win can be costly.

Geert Wilders, a Member of the Dutch Parliament who has been outspoken about the dangers of Islamic immigration, was permitted entry to Britain after being blocked for months. But his appearance inspired ugly demonstrations on London streets by local Sons of Allah, who openly announced their intention to kill him.

Last February, Wilders was sent back to the Netherlands after trying to appear in Britain and screen his short documentary film Fitna [Watch]. At that time, Home Secretary Jacqui Smith refused Mr. Wilders entry to the UK because his opinions "would threaten community security and therefore public security."

A little backstory is in order. After the 2004 murder of Dutch filmmaker Theo van Gogh on an Amsterdam street by Muslim Mohammed Bouyeri for producing the Islam-critical film Submission, Wilders came to prominence because of his frank talk about Islam. He characterized Islam as "fascist ideology" and condemned the religion for its barbarity to women, calling for a ban on the misogynous burqa. He has lived with 24/7 security protection ever since.

Britain's current change in policy was not because the Labor government had discovered any new enthusiasm for free speech. Instead, a judge overturned the ban on Wilders entering the country.

Muslim fury against Wilders is evident in a video making the rounds: Muslim protestors insult Geert Wilders. Young Islamic men with British accents professed their loyalty to principles of sharia law, which they say requires his execution:

"We're here to protest against this man, Geert Wilders, who insulted the message of Mohamed, [blah blah aleikum Islam]. We're here to give him a message that, like he's doing his interview today holed up, he'll remain holed up, because he obviously knows that in Islam, the punishment for the one who insults the prophet is capital punishment. And he should take lessons from people like Theo Van Gogh and others who faced the punishment. So obviously we're here to warn him and remind him that he's going to remain holed up as long as he insults Islam and Muslims."

Interviewer: Is that going to be construed a threat, what you just said?

"Well, obviously I'm saying, I'm not saying that I'm personally am going to carry out, but, he needs to know that there are Muslims in every corner of the earth, and these people they all have the love for the message of Mohamed [blah blah aleikum Islam]. And in the message of Mohamed he said, 'the one who insults any of the prophets, kill him.' That is a capital punishment. Not necessarily that personally I'm going to carry it out, but he should be warned that, you know, of the consequences of it." It's interesting how Wilders is seen as a threat to public order because of telling an unpleasant truth. But the truly dangerous Muslim mobs who crowd British streets with death threats are apparently regarded by British officials as incidental.

The case of Geert Wilders reveals how the strategy of intimidation works. The Muslim interlopers of Europe have been effective in using it against free speech and the normal bonds of society, backing up their threats with actual terrorism and street crime.

One group of Muslims, Islam4UK, plans a London rally for October 31 to demand Britain accept Islamic law, a March for Sharia:

"Undoubtedly, Islam and the Shariah have reached new heights in the United Kingdom, Muslim communities up and down the country have brought forth a culture and system that is not only superior to the British way of life but also a shining example of what true subservience to Almighty God can bring to a society  drowning in disbelief and oppression. "

The Daily Express of October 15 apparently didn't appreciate the opportunity for celebrating diversity at the event: Now Muslims Demand Full Sharia Law. [By Martyn Brown]

"The fanatical group Islam4UK has announced plans to hold a potentially incendiary rally in London later this month.

"And it is calling for a complete upheaval of the British legal system, its officials and legislation.

"Members have urged Muslims from all over Britain to converge on the capital on October 31 for a procession to demand the full implementation of sharia law."

There's no precise measurement for increased intimidation among the enemies of the West, but it does appear to be building in correlation to their enlarged demographic footprint resulting from immigration.

Of course, Europe has been awash in Islamic violence for years, including terror attacks in London and Madrid, plus spates of nightly car-burnings in France. The worldwide riots caused by Muslims because of their fury over a dozen Danish cartoons resulted in the deaths of over a hundred people.

No-go neighborhoods, where visits by non-Muslims are not considered safe, exist in many European countries. Police and firemen may also choose to stay out of Allahville because the ferocity of violence is on the uptick. Scholar Daniel Pipes has noted The 751 No-Go Zones of France:

"What are they? Those places in France that the French state does not control. They range from two zones in the medieval town of Carcassone to twelve in the heavily Muslim town of Marseilles, with hardly a town in France lacking in its ZUS. The ZUS came into existence in late 1996 and according to a 2004 estimate, nearly 5 million people live in them.

Comment: A more precise name for these zones would be Dar al-Islam, the place where Muslims rule. "

A recent German news report showed what police face in immigrant neighborhoods: YouTube: Berlin police under siege. One remark: "The police union say they are seeing higher and higher levels of ruthless violence." Attempted murder against police is part of the new normal, including Molotov cocktails.

Officer Andre Baudach (a sizable and robust-looking fellow) described surviving an attack where an iron bar was smashed against his head, plus his future plans in light of Germany's diversity: "I have applied for a training mission in Afghanistan. Because the risk of getting injured or killed over there is just the same as here, and the pay is considerably better."

That remark reflects a policeman's view of his own country after several decades of Muslim immigration. With a little bad luck, making an arrest or writing a traffic ticket in a hostile immigrant neighborhood can turn into a riot where the intent of some is to kill police.

Islam is on the march in America also. On September 25, several thousand Muslims gathered near the Capitol for a peaceful pray in. It's hard not to suspect that their prayers were for the eradication of the Constitution and its replacement with Islamic law.

The sponsoring group, Islam on Capitol Hill asserts, "Our time has come" A possible reference to America's Islam-friendly President? Or perhaps they are merely thrilled with the rapid growth of the Muslim population in the West through immigration and high fertility?

Muslims have been clever in using American freedoms to destroy America. A settlement in the Flying Imams case was announced October 20, albeit with no mention of a dollar amount that the clerics would receive. In a situation that looked suspiciously like a set-up, the six imams were removed from a US Airways plane for what both crew members and passengers reported was very alarming behavior.

The imams went straight to media and lawyer mode. They initially sought to sue the John Does on the plane who complained, but later dropped that idea. (It helped that Congress passed legal protections for citizens who report suspicious behavior to authorities.)

Had the imams been successful in painting vigilant citizens as racist profilers, everyone's safety from terrorists would have been severely diminished because of the fear of lawsuit on the part of honest people.

Instilling reluctance among airline passengers and ordinary people about speaking out when they see something wrong would have been a big win for the terrorist side. The safety motto "When you see something, say something" would have become a bitter joke.  

Muslims are big on marking territory. But they are not the only ones by any means. The 2006 May Day parades across America were filled with hundreds of thousands of Mexicans and others displaying their various foreign flags. The visuals woke up many Americans, who at that time may have considered the possibility of civil disorder among so many illegal aliens expressing loyalty to foreign powers. The parades were mostly peaceful, but a seed of alarm was planted.

An interesting example of the effectiveness of threatened violence in combination with large and growing numbers is the huge encampment of illegal aliens living in McGonigle Canyon near San Diego, a problem that has gone on for years.

"One home owner voiced specific concerns that [seemed] to be quite alarming.'A long-time resident stated Border Patrol will not go in the canyon due to the belief that if they do roundups of the illegal aliens, the migrants will torch the canyon in retaliation,' [Minuteman Jeff] Schwilk said.'"[Migrant camps draw ire from residents result in cool response from police, By Kimberly Dvorak, San Francisco Examiner, October 12, 2009]

In other words, the menace of violence, up to and including civil insurrection, has made some authorities and police pull back in order not to inflame the touchy foreigners.

That strategy may make sense in the short term—more so if one's own neighborhood might get torched or be trashed. But in the long term, society becomes a pattern of anarchies, where parts are literally is not your own country anymore, because they been captured and held by unfriendlies.

You have to look on the internet to find a map of no-go zones since they are not printed by officials. But they are quite real. (For example, see a map of France's "sensitive urban zones" for a view of the successful conquest of territory through violence, crime and intimidation.)

We may be at the beginning of a new sort of 21st century warfare where hostile immigrants occupy and expand territory through intimidation and localized violence. It is happening now in Europe. And it's coming to America—unless public policy changes soon.
