On May 3, the solons on San Diego's city council approved, by a 7 – 1 vote, a resolution that, in the language of a memo from council president Ben Hueso urging such action, amounted to "[d]enouncing Arizona's SB 1070."

Republican senatorial candidate Rand Paul isn’t even in the Senate yet but is making waves. After his discussion of the Civil Rights Law, he’s gone on to the anchor baby situation, wisely calling for an end to automatic birthright citizenship for children of illegals. According to an Associated Press piece entitled “Paul Opposes Citizenship for Babies of Illegals" (Associated Press, May 28th, 2010):
