EFF reprimands Judge Hurley and APEX for internet censorship

The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) weighed in on the APEX vs Tunnel Rat case. They strongly criticized Judge James Hurley for issuing orders to shut down three websites and to reveal the identities of the webmasters. On the EFF website a page titled: "Order to Shut Down Websites Critical of Apex Technology Group is Dangerous and Wrong".

Here's another example of why the diversity-is-the-highest-good ideology is untenable. Human beings are hard-wired to prefer the company of their own tribe, and happy-talk gibberish to the contrary doesn't work.

David Brooks: "Avatar" and "The White Messiah"

David Brooks in the NYT is peeved that "Avatar" isn't gung-ho about the U.S. military invading other countries and/or planets:

Every age produces its own sort of fables, and our age seems to have produced The White Messiah fable.

The NYT has a remarkable series of interactive maps for 12 metropolitan areas showing Netflix DVD rentals by movie by by zip code. For example, in LA, Woody Allen's Oscar winner Vicky Cristina Barcelona is #1 in 90210 (Beverly Hills), but isn't even in the top 50 for most of Socal away from the Hollywood Hills and the coast.

Former Attorney General Michael Mukasey appeared on Fox News on Saturday and analyzed the many problems with the current administration's legalist approach to Islamic terrorists. He was particularly appalled that the Obama strategy is to do plea bargains with terrorists, rather than gather intelligence as the first priority.
