Sometime on Monday Senator Leahy (D-Vermont) had his office put out a press release confirming his intention to try smuggling S.909, the Hate Crime Bill, through the Senate by attaching it to the National Defense Authorization bill this week – some reports say today, others Thursday.

Last week, there was one of those now-traditional Two Minute Hates in the national media, familiar to people as diverse as James Watson, Don Imus, and Michael Richards. This one was directed at a swim club in suburban Philadelphia, which had agreed to allow an inner city daycare center to use its swimming pool each Monday all summer.

Schumer Announces Move Regarding Foreign Workers

Though the title of the first enclosed article below includes the word "H-1Bs," I have not included the word in my Subject line above. The reason for my exclusion of the word is that Senator Schumer has not said anything about increasing the H-1B cap, so far as I can tell. There have been news articles on this in the last few weeks, and to my knowledge Schumer has made no public statements in this regard.
