The violence at the border is escalating. Previously it appeared that illegal alien invaders realized that Texas was a no-go for entering over the Rio Grande. However, for some strange reason, rather than go to the open borders where they can cross with no fear of any attempt to keep them out, illegals in the El Paso area rushed the barbed wire fencing built by the State of Texas and fought it out with Texas Guardsmen protecting the border.

A group of over 100 migrants attempting to enter the US illegally rushed a border wall Thursday, breaking through razor wire and knocking over guards in the process.
The Post witnessed around 600 migrants massed at the international border, whom Texas National Guard troops were attempting to push back in small groups.
The situation grew tense as groups were separated out, and video shows the migrants crying out for help and rushing to the border gate. A group of men with hoodies, gloves and winter jackets pull the fencing away as a group of five guards [i.e., Texas National Guardsmen] stand in a defensive formation to fill the gap.

The above video clearly shows that this part of the border was undermanned by the Texas National Guard (TNG), with no State Troopers available for assistance. Of course the Biden Border Patrol did not help.
The video apparently shows the Guardsmen were unarmed—which is typical—except for perhaps one Guardsman who appeared to be pointing something at the group of terrorists who attacked.
Fortunately, a single Guardsman at the border wall locks the steel gate shut before the group of illegal alien terrorists reaches the protection of a single Border Patrol Agent. The quick thinking of the Guardsman effectively ended the attack.

Hundreds of migrants decided they had enough of TX National Guard returning them to Mexico and rushed the border wall here.

Taer further claims that the Guardsmen went on the offensive and proceeded to push back the illegal aliens, something that I have advised.

Much more disturbing though was the fact that the Guardsmen were isolated and unsupported by others and they were unarmed. In such a case, the Guardsmen should have at least had less than lethal weapons, such as pepper spray, tasers, batons, bean-bag shotguns, tear gas, and 40-millimeter baton grenade launchers firing impact rounds.
They should also have been armed with real guns, which except for this group appears to be the standard, with all Guardsmen having M-4 carbines and pistols. Why was this particular group unarmed? Furthermore, it should be made clear that lethal force is an option. This was a violent and dangerous group of rioting terrorist invaders. Shooting them should have been available to the small group of Guardsmen that were quickly overrun. They could all have been killed.
Governor Greg Abbott needs to ensure that Guardsmen have less than lethal and lethal options available to them and the authority to use deadly force to protect the nation.
