Why am I not surprised? Jeb Bush, who wants to be our next president, utilized a Mexican political trick to get more supporters in the room at CPAC (Conservative Political Action Conference).

The trick is to bus in a lot of supporters to support the candidate or cause at a rally or demonstration. Well, Jeb Bush, who boasts about being "bicultural", learned that trick well.

Get used to it. As our country gets more and more Mexicanized, you can expect more and more of this type of thing.

From Slate:

It sounds like Jeb Bush’s supporters are taking CPAC pretty seriously this year. Emails provided to Slate show that backers of the former Florida governor are busing supporters from downtown Washington D.C. to CPAC in National Harbor, Maryland, and organizing to get them day passes into the event. One of the emails that went out this morning [Thursday the 26th] was from Fritz Brogan, a former advance man for then-President George W. Bush who (per the Washington Post) co-hosted a fundraiser for Jeb’s Right to Rise PAC earlier this month. A Bush insider confirmed to Slate that Bush’s Right to Rise PAC is helping organize the transportation. “We strongly recommend arriving as early as possible to get a seat,” wrote Brogan in an email sent to undisclosed recipients. “Our ‘Early Rise’ team will be there at 7:30am onward helping reserve seats- if you want to join the early team, let me know.” Brogan wrote that there were still available seats on buses leaving from K Street and Georgetown at noon on Friday to get to the event in time for Bush’s talk.
In another email sent last week to undisclosed recipients, Brogan discussed the importance of Bush supporters saving seats for each other before his talk. “If you are able to come early, we would love to have your help at 7:30am reserving seats for fellow supporters,” he wrote.
One long-time CPAC insider said these organized efforts impressed him, and that he didn’t know of any other potential 2016 candidates busing backers in. Perhaps that’s because no other potential candidates are worried about the regular crowd turning against them— the Washington Times reports today that some CPAC attendees are planning “to stage an informal protest when he hits the stage.”
Eliana Johnson reported at National Review that Bush won’t give a speech. Rather, she wrote that he will do a 20-minute Q&A with Fox News host Sean Hannity.

Jeb Bush Backers Are Busing Supporters From K Street to CPAC

That report was written before Jeb appeared on Friday the 27th. When Bush appeared on the stage the next day, there was indeed a walkout. National Review reports that

Scores of CPAC attendees began to file out as soon as Jeb Bush started speaking with talk show host Sean Hannity this afternoon, which did eventually garner plenty of applause.

The applause must have been from the lobbyists Bush had bussed in.

Despite the sign of defiance, the main ballroom was as packed for Bush’s talk as it had been for any other 2016 contender, including Scott Walker and Rand Paul. Bush’s comments attracted cheers from some parts of the ballroom, which was more packed than it had been at any other point in the conference, but was also punctuated by occasional heckles, including shouts of “Open borders!”?

Dozens of CPAC Attendees Walk Out on Jeb Bush, Ryan Lovelace, National Review, Feb. 27, 2015

See, that's why you want to get your guys in the room, so it looks like you have plenty of support, even if they're professional lobbyists. Notice though, that there were still opponents in the room. Back to National Review:

The Washington Times reported yesterday [February 26] that some conservative activists were considering protesting Jeb’s speech. In anticipation of just such a walkout, Slate reported, Bush’s team began bussing in supporters from downtown Washington, D.C. Many of the buses were expected to depart from K Street, the heart of the lobbying industry in Washington. As Bush continued to answer questions from Hannity, more and more attendees filed out.

Here's how Michael Krieger of Liberty Blitzkrieg summed it up:

I mean it just doesn’t get much more pathetic than this. Jeb Bush has such little genuine support, he was forced to bus in supporters from ground zero of American cronyism, K Street in Washington D.C., in order to ensure phony applause at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). What else would you expect from a candidate so awful only a corporate lobbyists could love him…and believe me, they do.

We have to keep Jeb Bush out of the White House. No more Bushes in the White House.
