I didn’t watch the State of the Union address and I cannot say I regret it. From what I gather, the Border Patrol Union was correct when it predicted Biden would blame Trump for everything. Attack, attack, attack. It seems to be the Democratic playbook.
A big deal is being made about Joe Biden messing up the name of recently murdered nursing student Laken Riley, killed by a Venezuelan illegal.
“Lincoln—Lincoln Riley,” Biden said. “An innocent young woman who was killed by an illegal.”
Biden then sought to minimize her murder by saying, “That’s right, but how many of the thousands of people are being killed by legals?”

However, what about his second sentence? Yes, Mr. President, what about those being murdered by “legals”? It’s about time someone addressed legal immigration and how their numbers need to be reduced too. I’m a little surprised Joe Biden was the one to do it, but I’ll take it. Supposedly, Biden went off script when he said that. I can’t help but believe Biden’s doctor was sitting in the wings thinking “Dammit!!! We made the dosage too high.”
It's anybody's guess what cocktail of drugs they infused Chairman Biden with in hopes of making him appear to be a sentient human being for an hour or so.

Of course, Biden did claim that the Senate border bill would be tough on illegal immigration, which is a bald-faced lie [Fact Check: Joe Biden Claims Border Security Bill Was ‘Toughest… Ever,’ Breitbart, March 7, 2024]. He failed to mention the House border bill H.R. 2, which would have clamped down on illegal aliens. The Senate border bill was nothing but chock full of lies about securing the border. If you actually look at what was in the Senate bill, it concerned itself far more with funding Ukraine than anything else.
Some pundits had speculated that Biden would announce some executive actions slowing the border invasion, but he didn’t even do that. His handlers must know that if he admits executive actions can help secure the border, then why hasn’t he done that from day one? Unless the invasion is intentional. Better to ignore it and attack Republicans.
I’m willing to bet this SOTU got higher ratings than most other SOTU speeches, but that’s because people were watching to see if Biden flubbed his speech, mangled his words, or pooped his pants. It was way past his bedtime after all.
