Re: Brenda Walker`s Blog: Somali Diversity Fest Lobbed Into Lewiston
How can Somalis justify their use of "diaspora" when that word has been used, as long as I can remember, to refer to the dispersal of the tribes of Israel, i.e., Jews?
The most logical answer is because the word is proven to generate a sympathetic emotion—in this case for Somali refugees.
No matter how Muslim chose to use "diaspora," it smacks of the most obvious hypocrisy, to use a word long-associated with Judaism to describe a Muslim issue.
Leverett`s opinion about fellow Marine General Peter Pace and his disingenuous immigration views is here. Previous letters she wrote about Mychal Bell, multiculturalism gone mad at the Denver Public Library and a local school teacher busted for drugs are here, here and here.
