Above: The New York Times's Wil Hylton wrote: "[O]ne of the most incendiary pieces to carry the notorious ‘‘black crime’’ tag was written by a man named Jerome Hudson, who, like some other black conservatives, worries that the focus on police brutality is siphoning outrage away from gang violence."

The Main Stream Media was fairly obsessed with the fact that the upstart conservative site Breitbart had a “Black Crime” tag while Steve Bannon was still running it, making special mention of it in their respective “point and splutter”-style articles about how vile they consider Breitbart to be [Here Are Some Of The Incendiary Stories Published By Trump's Chief Strategist, by Tasneem Nashrulla, BuzzFeed, November 14, 2016; We Finally Know What Is Too Openly Racist Even for Breitbart, by David Uberti, Splinter News, February 5, 2018; Down the Breitbart Hole, by Wil S. Hylton, The New York Times, August 16, 2017].

While technically true, the situation was overstated. In all of 2015 and 2016, a grand total of seven Breitbart articles were tagged with “Black Crime.” That made for an average of about one “Black Crime” story every four months. Surely not even Leftists think there is that little black crime.

Moreover, during that time Breitbart would report black crime, but not actually tag it “Black Crime.” For example, Black Man Accused of Rape Told Victim He Targeted Her ‘Because She’s White,’ published on November 5, 2016, was never tagged “Black Crime.” It is tagged “Big Government” though… I don’t know why.

adelleAt some point in late 2017 or early 2018, Breitbart deleted the tag altogether. Presumably it did this because it decided the tag was unseemly. However, on strictly utilitarian grounds, if you are only using a tag once every few months, you may as well delete it—especially if said tag isn’t comprehensive, and theirs was not.

But then the tag was revived for the February 26, 2018 article Sheriff David Clarke: Democrats ‘Have Screwed this Country Up with Failed, Liberal Urban Policies,’ written by the distinctly swarthy Adelle Nazarian. (Right.)

Except that when the tag was revived, none of the articles that had been tagged “Black Crime” before regained the tag. The “Black Crime” tag showed just one article: Nazarian’s about Sheriff Clarke.

Not that it mattered much, as the “Black Crime” tag was deleted entirely once again shortly thereafter.

All of the articles that had this tag are still on the site, mind you, it’s just that they no longer have the tag “Black Crime.” How many more times Breitbart will revive and delete this tag is anyone’s guess.

But in fairness to Breitbart, it is not the only conservative website that is of two minds about this sort of thing. The Federalist used to have a “Black Crime” tag as well. Like Breitbart, it did not use it very much, only about five times in all of 2016. But in September of 2017, a screenshot of the tag started making the rounds on Twitter, and The Federalist quickly deleted the tag. Unlike Breitbart, The Federalist has yet to revive it—though it certainly could at any time.

And just as with Breitbart, the articles that had this tag were not deleted. This is an important detail because it shows that neither Breitbart nor The Federalist came to believe any of their reporting or writing was factually inaccurate—they simply conceded that a particular way some of their stories were organized and categorized was “bad” in some abstract sense.

The issue was not the facts, it was noticing that the facts had a pattern—a recurring Steve Sailer theme.

(“LMAO” is an acronym for “laughing my ass off.” Will Menaker is a popular Leftist commentator best known for his role as the de facto frontman of the very popular socialist podcast “Chapo Trap House.”)

It is pathetic that these two websites, both of which are not without their virtues, caved to Leftist pressure. Why the proprietors of either site think they will be redeemed in the eyes of the Left because they deleted it is beyond me. Now the Left thinks both websites are not only racist, but cowardly and susceptible to attack as well.

If, like many Americans, you are looking for comprehensive and honest information about crime and its racial dynamics, stick with VDARE and American Renaissance. VDARE has a great “anti-white hate crimes” tag with nearly two hundred posts. We have a tag on "not reporting race" which is about the MSM's refusal to tag any black crimes as black.

We have a tag on "Immigrant Mass Murder", which is about the habit of some immigrants--many of them black--committing mass killings.

We have a tag on "Disgruntled Minority Massacre" about "workplace" shootings that take place when an employer hires, and then is forced to fired, a member of an angry minority group. Typical headline: Disgruntled Minority Massacre: Black Gunman Shoots Five Non-Black Fellow Employees, Killing Three.

AmRen has tags for “anti-white racism,” “black on white crime,” and “minority-on-white crime,” with over a hundred posts each.

If you’re at work or school and cannot access dissident sites, remember this open secret: the Breitbart tags “crime,” “rape,” and “gang-rape,” all might as well be “minority-on-white crime”—they are just too chicken to say so.
