Welcome to Radio VDARE and I’m your host, Virginia Dare.

The British government is finally standing up to foreign involvement in its politics. No, not by Muslim extremists. By Russia.

There is a full-fledged diplomatic crisis as the increasingly impotent Prime Minister, Theresa May, accused Russia of using a chemical weapon on British soil and expelled 23 Russian diplomats from the country.  [Russian spy: UK to expel 23 Russian diplomats, BBC, March 14, 2018] The Prime Minister is also asking for more national security powers, including the ability to “detain unwanted individuals at the border, new counter-espionage powers and new powers to impose sanctions” . [Expel Russian diplomats, ask for more powers—May’s plan over Skripal case, RT, March 14, 2018] Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn, who was appearing increasingly strong politically, is now under heavy criticism for not accepting the Prime Minister’s charge the Russian government tried to kill ex-M16 double agent Sergei Skirpal and his daughter. [Jeremy Corbyn branded Vladimir Putin’s puppet after refusing to accept Russia was behind nerve agent attack, The Sun, March 15, 2018] He’s even facing a rebellion within his own party [Pressure mounts on Jeremy Corbyn as top Labour MP’s launch rebellion over his claims Russia may not be behind spy poison scandal, by Alain Tolhurst and Natasha Clark, The Sun, March 14, 2018].

This sudden “rally round the flag” effect is almost obscene considering what is actually happening on the ground in Great Britain today. In Telford, what has been described as the worst grooming scandal in Great Britain’s history was recently exposed, with girls systematically abused, raped, or even killed over a period of 40 years. Authorities did nothing. Last weekend, the so-called Conservative government of Theresa May also banned Brittany Pettibone, Martin Sellner, and Lauren Southern from entering the country, evidently because of their rather moderate political beliefs.

These two scandals have received very little attention in the British press. One would think at least the first one would be the top story throughout the country, especially after the horror of Rotherham. Yet there is almost nothing. Instead, it is as though nationalist and patriotic fervor is being redirected against Russia.

While the “Great Game” of international geopolitics will always be with us, it’s hard not to see a sinister motive behind all of this. After all, recent events remove many of the justifications for why Great Britain is plagued with an immigration crisis. As the detainments of Pettibone, Sellner, and Southern show, the British government has sufficient intelligence and security to prevent people it doesn’t want from entering its borders. It just wants to welcome people who despise the country, not people who want to save it. As the sudden toughness with Russia shows, the British government is capable of mustering force and putting pressure to bear on enemies. It is just indifferent to people who rape and kill innocent young women in English towns.

There is a fundamental question being raised. What is the point of having armed services? It used to be said that wars were fought to protect a country’s way of life. However, the British people’s way of life has been changed beyond recognition by mass immigration. Indeed, from the standpoint of the indigenous British people, it’s hard to see how Russian domination could be more hostile than the conduct of the supposedly British government.

This does not mean Britain should not take action if Russia is responsible for this attack. After all, there was an innocent young woman involved, not just the ex-spy. But the British government is unilaterally making this declaration. And it’s just hard to take seriously. It almost feels like a deliberate distraction, like how government leaders often use an invented or exaggerated foreign threat to cover up what they are doing at home.

On a related noted, Nimrata “Nikki” Haley, no friend of immigration patriots, is telling the world Russia may use a chemical weapon in New York City.  [Haley slams Russia over spy poisoning in Britain, by Laura Koran, CNN, March 14, 2018] Well, protecting our borders and ports would help prevent that, but that’s probably too much to ask. Even with President Trump in the White House, you can’t take your eyes off these people for a single second.

I’m Virginia Dare and we’ll talk again soon.
