Today I had one of those experiences that restores your proper faith in government.

A client contacted me because Immigration and Customs Enforcement had raided a relative's house. ICE was looking for my client in order to deport him.

There was only little problem: The client was not in the U.S.

In fact, he had not been in the U.S. for two and a half years. He had left the country when his visa had expired. While I recovered the money his employer had failed to pay him, I had to update his mailing address as his work took him from country to country overseas.

Meanwhile, if ICE were to park one of their cars in front of my house, it would start a panic in the neighborhood. (ICE: Take the hint)
