I have a new essay up at Counter-Currents. In it, I argue that fictional characters and events are not legitimate modes of social commentary/analysis. In a social commentary novel, the analytic portion deserves more rigorous attention than has been the custom, and ought to be, more or less, set-aside from the central story; its purpose is to establish the social setting of the novel.

If you have not yet read my novel The Birth Of Prudence yet (what are you waiting for!), it was written according to these ideas.
