U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) recently conducted a massive nation-wide operation arresting 3,000 or so illegal aliens with prior criminal convictions and deportation fugitives, commonly called absconders.  One of those absconders, one who was living quite openly and publically, was not arrested.

ICE Arrests More Than 2,900 Convicted Criminal Aliens, Fugitives In Enforcement Operation Throughout All 50 States 18 Weapons Seized During Operation

WASHINGTON — As part of the Obama administration's ongoing commitment to prioritizing the removal of criminal aliens and egregious immigration law violators, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) today announced the results of a seven-day national "Cross Check" enforcement operation-which led to the arrest of more than 2,900 convicted criminal aliens.

"The results of this targeted enforcement operation underscore ICE's ongoing commitment and focus on the arrest and removal of convicted criminal aliens and those that game our nation's immigration system," said ICE Director John Morton. "Because of the tireless efforts and teamwork of ICE officers and agents in tracking down at large criminal aliens and fugitives, there are 2,901 fewer criminal aliens in our neighborhoods across the country."

Not surprisingly one of those aliens gaming the system, Onyanga Obama, was not arrested. In fact ICE ERO sent him a nice letter requesting that there be a meeting to "discuss" his immigration status.

Obama’s Uncle May Still Be Deported

Federal immigration officials have notified President Obama’s uncle that they want to discuss his deportation to his native Kenya, confirming for the first time since last summer that he could still be forced to leave the country.

The notice arrived days after Onyango Obama resolved a drunken driving case in Framingham that exposed the quiet 67-year-old as living in the United States illegally 20 years after he was ordered deported.

US Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokesman Brian P. Hale said Tuesday that now that Obama’s criminal case is over, “ICE has communicated, in accordance with standard procedure, with the attorney of record regarding his removal pursuant to a previous final order by an immigration judge.’’

Obama, who is the half-brother of the president’s late father, must appear at a meeting next week at ICE offices in Burlington to discuss his deportation, according to a person with direct knowledge of his case. He is the second presidential relative found to be living in the United States illegally; the president’s aunt won asylum in 2010.

So, Kenyan illegals get a letter, while Mexican illegals get an early morning wake-up from Deportation Officers kicking in their door, handcuffs, and have to cool their heels in jail until they are deported. Sounds like a 14th Amendment violation to me. Equality before the law and all that. Special treatment for blacks, not for Hispanics. If I were a member of the treason bar and one of my clients was arrested in the area of the Massechusetts ICE ERO office I would file a 42 USC 1983 lawsuit against Hale.
