Everyone will no doubt be charmed by the stories of President Obama’s Passover (Seder) Dinner.

Unless they think about what it means

Next Year in the White House: A Seder Tradition By Jody Kantor The New York Times March 26 2010 says

In the Old Family Dining Room, under sparkling chandeliers and portraits of former first ladies, the mostly Jewish and African-American guests will recite prayers and retell the biblical story of slavery and liberation, ending with the traditional declaration ”Next year in Jerusalem"'

But with characteristic bluntness, the Jewish Telegraph Agency reports

According to reports, African-American and Jewish staffers are invited to participate

So when American Jews and American Blacks get together for a self-pity orgy over alleged past sufferings, who is implicitly being blamed?

Not the Middle Eastern types who ran the slave trade in the President’s ancestral East Africa, or ancient Egypt.

The apparently unbidden guest: White Christian Americans.

Obama’s White House Seder is a gesture of conquest and dispossession and don’t imagine that is not uppermost in the mind of everyone present.

Did the Obamas have any formal Christmas celebration? Although we run the War against Christmas Competition, we can find no record of one.
