Obama Pharoah

Not what the Founding Fathers had in mind

Gun rights are not a VDARE.com issue, but the ability to maintain the Constitutional system of government the nation inherited from its forefathers definitely is.

Once again the Obama Administration is showing that its intellectual roots are in African (or perhaps Eastern European) despotism:

President Obama will offer a "comprehensive" proposal to combat gun violence on Wednesday… The president is also expected to outline 19 executive actions that he can unilaterally take...

The executive actions could be key, as Obama's ambitious legislative package is likely to see tough resistance on Capitol Hill. Over the weekend, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said an assault weapons ban was unlikely to pass the House…

In other words, faced with an inability to get his wishes through by the proper legislative procedure, the President plans to rule by decree. Just as he engineered the de facto repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), the 2011 Stealth Amnesty and the 2012 Dream Act Coup D’état.

As I observed last year in Obama's Immigration Coup: If GOP Afraid To Defend Americans, How About Defending The Constitution? this opens an entirely separate question than the actual policy matter at stake: failure to govern constitutionally.

The correct response is impeachment. I admit that takes courage.

I see that Reagan Attorney General Ed Meese now agrees with me: Meese: Obama Risks Impeachment If He Uses Executive Order for Gun Control, by Todd Beamon and Kathleen Walter, NewsMax, Jan 14, 2013

An impeachment action would be a disaster for the Democrats. They would be caught between the mass popular support which really exists for gun rights and the fanatical Obama groupies. It should clear the House - and Democratic Senators from Flyover Country would be excruciatingly embarrassed.

Ultimately Obama would probably have to drop his actions.

With the clash between what Peter Brimelow has called “America and Anti-America” now joined, impeachments going to become normal politics as we noted here and here.

As usual when anything important is at issue: where is the GOP?
