A reader wants to know why I, VDARE.com's resident math geek, am not all over Pi Day like a surjective open map that is locally a homeomorphism.

Answer:  I got my math training on the other side of the pond, where dates are written DD/MM/YY and Pi Day is July 22nd … approximately.

G.B. Shaw said that Britain and America are divided by a common language.  True enough; and we are also, in this case, divided by un-common divisors, dividends, and quotients.
