James Holmes is a white madman who committed a mass murder. The Daily Mail reports new from a "prison source" who say that he's undergone a jailhouse conversion to Islam. If  reports of his conversion are true, you can see how it makes sense.

Supposing you have committed a senseless mass murder,  a terroristic attack on innocent Americans, then it makes sense to convert to Islam, because in that religion, terrorism against Americans is OK. So if this is true, can we change the "Dark Knight" shooting from a "white dude" shooting to a "Sudden Jihad"/Fort Hood style shooting retrospectively?

James Holmes, the gunman behind the Dark Knight massacre in Colorado last July, has reportedly turned Muslim and prays five times a day.

The killer showed off a lengthy, thick beard during a court appearance earlier this month, and a prison source has claimed it is a symbol of his new-found faith.

The source said Holmes has turned to Islam as a way of justifying his horrific murder spree in an Aurora, Colorado cinema on July 20 which left 12 people dead and 58 people wounded. 'He has brainwashed himself into believing he was on his own personal jihad and that his victims were infidels,' a prison source told the National Enquirer.

He now prays five times a day, sticks to a strict Muslim diet and spends hours each day studying the Qur'an, the source said. But his new routine has upset Muslim inmates.

'None of them condone forms of terrorism or extremism,' the source added. 'And they don't want their religion to be connected to that awful shooting.'[More]

Actually, what it shows is that Holmes is, like a lot of white shooters, completely wacko. The Mail goes on to say

Holmes' lawyers repeatedly raised questions about his mental health, including a recent revelation that he was held in a psychiatric ward for several days last fall, often in restraints, because he was considered a danger to himself.

We might ask who let him out, and if letting him out was required by law, and what advocacy groups for the deranged think about this. But the point is that he did it because he was completely mental. Major Nidal Hasan, on the other hand, committed his similar attack because he was an enemy of the United States.

His behavior can't really be dealt with by psychiatrists, because it's normal for Muslims.
