Sawant's socialist friends are big General Strike fans, and let me remind you that a "General Strike" doesn't mean just withdrawal of labor, it means the kind of massive disruptions seen in Greece.
Do they have the support for that kind of action? Maybe not, but they certainly have the numbers.Imagine, for example, if this 2007 rally pictured below (funded by George Soros) had not been a peaceful demonstration.
