* Yglesias is an interesting example of the ongoing Flight From White. A decade ago, he explained that he identified as an Ashkenazi American, having three Jewish grandparents. But he underwent a Racial Awakening while filling out his 2010 Census and declared himself Hispanic:

After all, his Florida-born Conquistador-American grandfather Jose Yglesias had been the film critic for the Communist Party USA’s Daily Worker and then a Merck executive, so you can’t get much more oppressed than that.
