We have recently seen a rather high profile suicide/murder involving another software engineer, Joe Stack, who was furious with the IRS and flew his plane into its Austin TX office. (For his manifesto, click here). I tend to think the problems this man experienced were very real—and even if he didn't link them with immigration in his mind, they quite likely were. In my technical work, I have had co-workers who really were explosive experts or highly trained former military personnel. I can't help wondering if we aren't seeing an unfortunate trend that might inspire copycats—and what that might mean.
