05/28/10 - A Pennsylvania Reader Says White House/Sestak Dilemma Is Easily Solved—"Tell More Lies"

A California Reader Is Notes Media Matters' Refusal To Debate Immigration Intelligently; etc.

From:  Laurie Leigh (e-mail her)

Re: Allan Wall's Blog: Allan Wall On Fox & Friends

Dutiful VDARE.COM reader that I am, I followed Wall's advice and went to the Media Matters website which hosted a "discussion" of Allan Wall's appearance on Fox & Friends.

Co-host Steve Doocy asked Wall, a former Mexico resident, if Felipe Calderon and his government were being hypocrites by condemning Arizona's S.B 1070.

Wall answered yes and gave ample supporting reasons to back up his position.

In other words, the host asked a simple question and Wall gave a measured response. Anyone who knows the least bit about Mexico's immigration laws and Calderon's outrageous statements during his U.S. visit cannot intelligently challenge Wall's conclusion.

Here however are a random sample of the Media Matters comments:

  • "I guess David Duke was unavailable..."

  • "Why not just host the grand dragon of the KKK and get it over with."

  • "Wonder if Fox will apologize later for inviting a white nationalist to discuss immigration for no real reason. Free speech is one thing, but this is a bit much."

The conversation between Wall and Doocy was about Mexican and U.S. immigration law and whether Mexico is within its rights to be critical about American laws since it has much tougher standards.

But the so-called responses are all about whether Wall is a "white nationalist" [VDARE.COM note: which they confuse with "supremacist"], a KKK member or someone who has abused his freedom of speech privileges. Not one post addressed the actual subject matter.

VDARE.COM does not escape either. Media Matters prominently labels it a "hate website" in its headline.

This is a great example of where debate about federal immigration policy is. Even the tamest, most undeniable statements that criticize immigration will expose you to vile, unsubstantiated charges of racism.

Joe Guzzardi adds: Peter Brimelow's blog here discussed the Treason Lobby's refusal to have any conversations that include intelligent analysis on its part. Name-calling is its first and only defense.

A Missouri Reader Suggests That America Should Boycott California

From:  U. G. Sullivan (e-mail him)

Re: Rob Sanchez's Column: Arizonan Says Help VDARE.COM Defend My State—And U.S. High Tech Workers!

Sanchez and other readers might be surprised to learn that Arizona is not alone in its legal approach to dealing with illegal immigrants.

At first glance, one might surmise the law that follows below is the much-maligned Arizona S.B. 1070 requiring police to request valid identity cards from those reasonably suspected of being the state illegally.

It's not. Rather it's a California law requiring exactly the same thing—but without the added safeguards found in the Arizona law.

Perhaps America should boycott California! Or, better yet, California should enforce its own laws.

California Penal Code 834b.

(a)       Every law enforcement agency in California shall fully cooperate with the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service regarding any person who is arrested  if he or she is suspected of being present in the United States in violation of federal immigration laws.

(b)       With respect to any such person who is arrested, and suspected of being present in the United States in violation of federal immigration laws, every law enforcement agency shall do the following:

(c)          (1) Attempt to verify the legal status of such person as a citizen of the United States, an alien lawfully admitted as a permanent resident, an alien lawfully admitted for a temporary period of time or as an alien who is present in the United States in violation of immigration laws. The verification process may include, but shall not be limited to, questioning the person regarding his or her date and place of birth, and entry into the United States, and demanding documentation to indicate his or her legal status.

(d)          (2) Notify the person of his or her apparent status as an alien who is present in the United States in violation of federal immigration laws and inform him or her that, apart from any criminal justice proceedings, he or she must either obtain legal status or leave the United States.

(e)          (3) Notify the Attorney General of California and the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service of the apparent illegal status and provide any additional information that may be requested by any other public entity.

A Texas Reader Says Miss USA Judges Are Racist, Anti-American

From: Wayne Hamilton (e-mail him)

Re: Today's Letter: A Michigan Woman Wonders What VDARE.COM Thinks Of Lebanese-Born Miss USA, Rima Fakih

In his footnote to the above captioned letter, Letters Editor Joe Guzzardi asked readers to submit their opinions about Rima Fakih.

Here's what I think.  Most Americans don't consider her a disgrace or a trashy woman but Muslims around the world might.

What would happen to Fakih for walking around in a skimpy bikini and pole dancing in Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Syria, Iran or Indonesia?  She would be arrested by the "religious police" and subject to severe punishment.

However in America Fakih becomes not only the beneficiary of Affirmative Action but also a role model for the American left wing to use to bash whites.

The problem is the corrupt Miss USA contest, where the judges hate traditional American values. They ambush contestants they perceive to be of privileged white upbringing with questions designed to portray them as racists and bigots.

For example, Miss Oklahoma, Morgan Elizabeth Wollard gave reasonable and correct answer about S.B. 1070 but it cost her the crown. [Miss USA: Did Arizona immigration hurt Miss Oklahoma Morgan Elizabeth Woolard in loss to Rima Fakih? By Ethan Sacks, NY Daily News, May 17, 2010]

Fakih, on the other hand, got a softball question about birth control pills and idiotically said they are a "controlled substance"

On top of that Fakih clumsily tripped over her dress but still won because the judges saw Miss Oklahoma as an anti-Hispanic bigot.

Commercial sponsors and fans of the Miss USA pageant should boycott promoter Donald Trump and all his hotel and casino properties until he fires and replaces his ignorant ant-American, anti-white racist judges.
