Hospitals Feeling Strain From Illegal Immigrants

Only in America would a representative of the more "conservative" of two major parties introduce a bill called "The Border Hospital Survival and ILLEGAL Immigrant Care Act." (My capitalization.)

More to the point, this is the second time in three weeks that an article about the problems of immigration has made the list of the top 25 most emailed New York Times articles. At the time of writing (8:45 am Australian Eastern Standard Time on 27 August 2002) it is still number 21. The article has been on the list for over a day.
