Having read, and been frustrated at, the Washington Post for years now I am delighted it is being sold to Jeff Bezos at a distressed price. [Washington Post to be sold to Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon , By Paul Farhi, Washington Post, August 5, 2013] I only receive the Sunday edition as the travel section is decent and I want to see what the enemy is up to in the news and Outlook sections.

For the past few months, during the debate about “Comprehensive Immigration Reform“ (CIR) the Washington Post has been hammering constantly about passing this legislation. This included the lead editorial, Dan Balz’s column, new articles, op-eds, and other columnists. Often the writings appeared to be directed personally at weak Republicans such as Sen. Rubio and Rep. Boehner telling them to pass CIR for the sake of their legacy or some such nonsense. The high water mark was four pro-CIR articles / commentaries in one recent Sunday edition. The opposition to CIR is rarely, if ever mentioned except in a derogatory manner.

Furthermore, the Washington Post has to be one of the most pro military interventionist publications in the United States. No international conflict can be ignored, and be sure to bring in the refugees afterwards.

I have no idea what changes the new owner Jeff Bezos will make in the WP, but considering its rather mediocre and biased reporting there is only room for improvement.
