Re: Peter Brimelow's Column: Holocaust Museum Hullaballoo Reveals Hate Crimes Hypocrisy

In his column, Brimelow referenced a quote from hate industry gadfly and California State San Bernardino Professor Brian Levin wherein Levin managed to evade the fact that James von Brunn acted alone and instead blamed his favorite enemies, specifically opponents of the Hate Crimes bill.

Levin claims he is the "Director" of the Center for the Study of Hate and Extremism.

In truth, Levin's center exists solely on his letterhead.

  • The "Center" has no staff beyond its verbose "Director."

  • The "Center's" website hasn't been updated since 2001.

  • Unlike legitimate centers at Cal State San Bernardino, the e-mail address for Levin's "Center" is not to a regular "csusb.edu" server, but rather to his own free AOL account ([email protected])

  • According to LexisNexis and other academic journal databases, Levin's "Center" has produced almost nothing in the way of scholarly findings, although he has sent out a number of "CSU/SB Professor available to comment on [insert "hate" related topic here]" press releases.

  • Levin is a Southern Poverty Law Center alumnus—the grand masters of the classic Bernaysian front group.

Keefe is a communications student.
