Re: A Patriotic Reader Comments On George Will’s Petulant Bolting The GOP Over Trump

From: George Weinbaum [email him]

I remember Will's  "it would take 200,000 buses to deport 11 million illegals" piece.  [Guard the Borders—And Face Facts, Too, March 30, 2006 ] It was the last thing he wrote I read.

I sent Will an e-mail informing him he was mistaken.  Why?  If you want to deport 10 million people, at 50 persons a bus RIDE, that's 200,000 bus rides, not 200,000 buses.  If each bus makes 50 trips per year and the deportations take one year, that's 4,000 buses.  If there were 10 million persons to deport and the deportations take five years, that's, drum roll please, 800 buses.

Will never answered me.

Imagine, Will is a Princeton grad.

James Fulford writes: I wrote recently about George Will's stupid piece on deportation, saying that he had said in 2006 that no-one could deport “11 million” illegals, because “They would fill 200,000 buses in a caravan stretching bumper-to-bumper from San Diego to Alaska”–which is only true if they all left on the same day. It must be possible for all those people to move from one country to another–it’s already happened once.
