I watched every presidential debate in 2008 and 2012 with the purpose of hearing a candidate give hope to my desire for less legal immigration and zero illegal immigration. Nearly all candidates immigration comments were empty, secure the border platitudes.

Here is what I remember being said in the debates on immigration beyond secure the border boob bait:

I recall Obama actually stating once only, in a 2008 debate with Hillary, that immigration sometimes hurt less skilled workers. He surprised me.[VDARE.com note: In this 2008 debate Hillary comes off better on that issue.]

I remember Santorum making very hopeful statements suggesting he was on our side and understands immigration.

And I remember Michele Bachmann making a wonderful remark that I have never forgotten, that we had a perfectly good immigration system " before the  1965 Act." Her statement spoke volumes to me. The moderator quickly changed the subject. She was my favorite.

Both Bachman and Santorum got the "swivel eyed loon" treatment from the press for their social conservative positions.

The rest of the field was very bad. Even Romney eventually showed us his true Washington Weasel globalist colors.

In 2012, the only candidate who promised immigration hope on my Florida ballot was the virtually unknown Virgil Goode. He was clearly the best candidate on immigration. In my county of close to 2 million people he got around 114 votes. One of them was mine.

I think the only hope for Santorum is to go on the offensive and attack the press and reveal them as being in the pockets of the billionaire open border anti American worker globalists. The press and the gay media is going to butcher him anyway.

Most of the press is also clueless, as they think people like me hate immigrants. They have never understood most people don't hate immigrants. Immigrants come to take our jobs, or in some cases our country. We don't hate them for wanting our jobs and country, we hate those like the press who want to give it to them, and who are in the pockets of the anti American billionaire globalists and corporations.

One thing I know for sure, is Santorum is going to have part of the field all to himself if he keeps commenting on all new jobs going to immigrants.

If he can tap into the anger most of us feel at Washington and the media that has been bought by the globalists and which has betrayed us for decades on immigration, he might go a lot farther than people in the press imagine. An angry optimistic candidate will go far in 2016.

Finally, keep plugging  Laura Ingraham on VDARE.com! I listen to anyone that might give me a scrap of hope on immigration. I have given up on most of talk radio gas bags. Ingraham is an exception, she understands immigration to the highest degree, and is willing to fight like a mad woman for our side. She frequently has on her show patriots willing to speak the truth and is not afraid to gut those weasels who come on her show and lie.

We need to encourage people like her to the maximum and spend less time listening to those on radio or TV who think immigration is an annoying minor wedge issue and not the core issue of our country's existence. I listen to her on my computer.
