Re: Today's Letter: A Connecticut Reader Wonders Why Phyllis Schlafly Wastes Her Time

I completely agree with letter writer Joseph Morabito regarding why Republicans are obsessed with a GOP platform that clearly John Mc Cain will immediately dismantle.  

But to answer his question about Schlafly didn't back Tom Tancredo or Duncan Hunter is easy.  

Schlafly originally backed Sam Brownback, a pro illegal alien senator who wanted thousands of refugees swarming into the US but not into Kansas his state.  

This is the problem with Republicans. They don't back men of principle and conviction but instead support compromisers.
