Why YOU Should Support VDARE.COM—Our War Against Christmas Competition

Tonight we begin our War Against Christmas Competition—offering a prize for the most outrageous attempt to abolish Christmas.

Today, there popped up on the web something from a Time Magazine writer called Alex Altman (who hides behind Time's Letters to the Editor page):

"Since the 1990s, a right-wing website has held an annual competition for the most egregious example of secularization. (Villains include the Department of Housing and Urban Development, which christened its year-end party "A Celebration of Holiday Traditions.")

That's us, although of course we can't be named—don't want to rile up the peasants!

Of course, while I personally may be "right wing", we're not a "right-wing website"—we're a forum website, to which anyone critical of America's immigration disaster is welcome to contribute.

But that doesn't make as good a smear!

I persuaded John O'Sullivan to start the War Against Christmas competition way back in the mid-1990s, when he was editor of National Review. Of course, it was promptly dropped after he was fired by Bill Buckley—part of NR's regression to the MSM norm. (They abandoned the cause of patriotic immigration reform as well).

But through the miracle of the internet, VDARE.COM was able to take up the cause. And subsequently, the Fox TV network and others picked it up.

We were rewarded in the last couple of years by the phenomenon of War Against Christmas Denial—a uniform barrage of MSM stories saying that there was no War Against Christmas, and anyway it was justified.

And some of our erstwhile allies backed off.

It makes no difference to us. We will continue to document the War Against Christmas because we regard it as part of the War Against the West.

And that is a war in which there can be no surrender.

Scroll to the end and click thorough for James Fulford on this year's competition.

Tomorrow night, we post Tom Piatak on Hanukkah vs. Christmas.

No-one else but VDARE.COM will do this.

That's why you must STOP AT THE DONATE BUTTON and help us NOW.

Merry Christmas to all our readers!

Regardless of faith or lack of it—except for faith in America.
