As I wrote earlier[Nicholas Stix Alive, Well, Extremely Stubborn [1]] Nicholas Stix is alive and well in the Hurricane Sandy-torn regions [2] of Far Rockaway. He still doesn't have internet access, partly because he's been refusing to join the smartphone revolution.
