H/T One Old Vet for The 'Wise Latina' Lied
I don’t think anyone is surprised how SCOTUS Justice Sonia ‘the Wise Latina’ Sotomayor voted in the Chicago Gun Ban Case (McDonald v. Chicago)…

What is surprising is the boldness with which she lied during her vetting as a SCOTUS nominee about her ‘understanding’ of an INDIVIDUAL RIGHT to keep and bear arms as SCOTUS decided in ‘Heller’. She went on to say; “I understand how important the right to bear arms is to many, many Americans.”

The leftist-liberals of the court in the Chicago case dissented saying; “In sum, the Framers did not write the Second Amendment in order to protect a private right of armed self defense” Sotomayor agreed!

Justices Breyer and Ginsburg ,,,never touted their understanding of "how important the right to bear arms is to many, many Americans." Sonia Sotomayor, however, promised to do one thing and then did the opposite.
This story is bad news for anyone who cares about the right to bear arms. Even worse for anyone who thinks Supreme Court Justices can be bound by their Confirmation statements.

A Justice Kagan, anyone?

It cannot be stressed too often that the Supreme Court has appointed itself the senior legislative arm of the American polity. The tree of liberty needs watering with ...impeachment, as both Pat Buchanan and Peter Brimelow have said.
